I'm Going To Take A Nap Now - Just Wake Me Up In 3 Months!

I wish I was a bear! I would at least be able to hibernate in the winter. More snow today in the Hudson Valley! It started a little while ago and it's suppose to continue through the night. Here is the scene from my front porch. Notice my neighbor's house in the distance. Now, imagine that there is actually a street somewhere between our houses. Can you see the road?

I was driving home a while ago and listening to the radio. There was an announcement of a mattress store that is having a sale. A random little fact was thrown out to listeners. I was paying attention!

....Did you know we spend 4 months out of the year sleeping?

I'd like to use that time all at once. Yes, I want the entire 4 months of sleep for the year - NOW! Maybe I'll wake up and it would be a better real estate market too. I would be well-rested and energized! Oh, and since I don't really need a full 8 hours of sleep per night does this mean I can even settle for a 3 month nap? ...So I can wake up just in time for the spring market! Just call me Rip VanCulkin!

Hi Carol,

Snow, snow, everywhere. LOL I was just talking with my sister, she lives in the Albany, NY area and they are expecting another 6 inches of the white stuff tonight.

I told her, she wasn't impressed, that I love snow, especially when I am looking at it on my laptop as I sit by the pool.

Happy winter, think spring it is so beautiful in your area.

Hi Carol... I know how the winters get up in your neck of the woods, but I would like a good snow here every now and again.  Here we just really seem to get ice storms that have lots of inconvenience but none of the beauty elements of a good snow strorm!  Nice picture (if you can get past the missing street).

Could you imagine the bed head you would have if you slept for 4 months straight?  Plus the pillow marks on your face...  and man, I would be HUNGRY!  :)  Stay safe out there!

Hey Carol, isn't that the Rip VanCulkin Bridge on the right hand side of your blog?  I took a nice long nap yesterday and when I woke up it was still yesterday-----dang!

Harold - Your sister lives 1 hour north! - Just a snowballs' throw from me!

Rafeeq - It sure seems to be the smart thing to do, if income wasn't a factor!

Steve - Yup, and we'd have to add some sun too!

Jared - LOL ...It would be a bad bedhead - that's for sure!

Charlie - Very good! You must know the area. YES - there is a Rip VanWinkle Bridge here. It's about 20 miles north of where I live. It spans the Hudson river near the Catskill Mountains. NO, that is not the picture though.

Carol, haven't I told you about my roots to your area before?  My son lives in Peeskill and I built a house in New Paltz.

Charlie - SOme of it is coming back to me. I am almost sandwiched between Peekskill and New Paltz. We have a lot of buyers who move here from the Peekskill area. Please let your son know to keep his ear open! Prices are almost half here what they an hour south. Peekskill is about 45 minutes south of where I live. The buyers I closed with last week were from there.

My son is starting to "think" about buying----I told him to let me know when he was ready and I would give him your name.

Charlie - Awesome! You know I would treat him like family. AND, for the price of a home inspection, you could even fly out and do the inspection for him! Wouldn't that be FUN!

Carol I like the idea but because I am not licensed in NY he would probably have to wave inspection for me to do the inspection:)

Carol, your snow looks pretty. We have sun and temps in the 50's and 60's. Occasional snow I think gives you that four season climate feel. Too much and it is a "bear" to get around.

Amen, my dear!  Nothing is nicer on a cold snowy day that a comfortable bed with big a big old down comforter and a few cats to warm up your feet!
